We were given a brief to design a new way to promote fire safety and cover a certain amount of fire safety points. The design could be in any form of media but should be innovate and informative about fire safety.
We were put into groups of 3, my group consisted of Libby Odai, Luke Monet and I . We came up with the idea of developing a fire safety app game which could be played on android phones, iPhones and tablets. The game name was chosen to be ‘Fire Dash’ , Fire Dash links well with the concept of the game to get your characters to exit the house as quickly and safely as possible.
The game Fire Dash would allow you to first build your own characters & your own house. There would be different levels in the game which you can play on ‘challenge mode’ . The game also will include a tutorial and a custom map view. When starting a challenge you get a certain amount of time to make your house as fire safe as possible moving objects away from doors, insuring batteries are put into the fire alarms, insuring doors are closed and candles are blown out etc. When the game starts you must get your characters out of the house as quickly and safely as possible; a fire could start at any point in the house mainly at points which is most unsafe such as in the kitchen.
I placed all screen layouts into an iPhone to give a better perception of what the app design would look like, I also did a video on Flash of the app and designed the app icon and loading page.
